Beyond reduced maintenance and low frictional properties under side load, the SKF bushings have been developed to be the best combination with the SKF seals​. SKF fork bushings combine the strength of steel with a PTFE-based self-lubricating sliding layer, ensuring smooth, low-friction performance. A bronze intermediate layer enhances heat dissipation and bonding between layers. The copper-plated steel backing protects against corrosion. After a short break-in period, a thin PTFE layer transfers to the counter surface, enabling optimal low-friction and wear-resistant properties.
